Breath Play Safety

Choke me harder
Susan!
No Steven safety first!
So you've found yourself asking, ''Lola how does one ''choke'' correctly?'' Well really it's not choking as such. You squeeze the sides of the throat rather than press down on the neck but of course making sure they are alright.
Start gentle, as with anything during sexual endeavors, squeeze gently and read their response. Find their boundary but importantly don't go too hard even if they're asking for it as you can seriously harm your partner. If they can't verbalize then ease up on the pressure, the throat is a very sensitive part of the body.
What happens when breath play goes wrong? It can result in brain damage or even death. So take it easy and do it correctly.
It is important to remember choking is enjoyable because of the lack of oxygen in the blood which happens from pressing on the carotid artery, so this is where you are aiming to apply pressure. (see photograph below)
Using a collar? This is more complex and more dangerous so just take it slow and easy, pull on the leash gently and increase gradually but never be too rough no matter how good it may feel in the moment. It's difficult to think clearly in the zone but it is important.
Another top tip is to try breath play for short intervals at a time. Try a couple seconds, then a few and build up from there to find a comfortable boundary for not just your partner but you as well.
